I ordered the classic Harbin salad, served with the famous Dà Liè Bā bread, which was hearty and comforting. The borscht here is slightly sweeter than in Russia, but rich and flavorful, with sour cream served on the side. The beef Stroganoff was tender, perfectly seasoned, and came with mashed potatoes. The portions are generous, and everything feels authentic while also adapted to local tastes. Service was attentive and polite, even though English is not widely spoken – the staff tried their best to help with explanations, and the menu includes English translations. Waiting times were reasonable, and dishes arrived freshly prepared. What I liked most was the combination of history and dining. TATOC is more than a restaurant; it is a living reminder of Harbin’s multicultural past, when Russian emigrants brought their architecture, cuisine, and traditions to this northern Chinese city.
