Hanmer Springs, a resort destination for New Zealanders. It's still relatively unknown, but it's truly a lovely town. Located on the South Island, there are buses from Christchurch. Surrounded by nature such as mountains and forests, it offers plenty of hot springs and activities. The surrounding hiking and cycling trails can be enjoyed even by outdoor beginners. It's a small town with limited entertainment, but there are cafes, international restaurants, shops, and markets, so it's not inconvenient. There are hotels, but I recommend renting a holiday house and staying for at least a week. Wake up to the sound of birds chirping and enjoy a leisurely coffee time at a town cafe.
