A Magical Trip to Hangzhou

#springitinerary I actually took a day off just to visit Hangzhou and stumbled into this massive green energy haven. Imagine rain tapping softly, bells ringing gently, and the rustle of leaves in the breeze — pure calm. After a thunderstorm, sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm glow on ancient stone bricks that are over a thousand years old. It was so peaceful and tender, like everything around me was quietly healing. About Liuhe Pagoda: Built over a thousand years ago in the Northern Song dynasty, it’s been rebuilt several times. The current structure mostly dates from the Qing dynasty, but the core bricks are still from the Song era. The pagoda has eight sides and thirteen levels of wooden eaves, with 104 iron bells hanging from the corners that chime with the wind. Inside, it’s seven levels of brick and stone, each with calligraphy plaques from Emperor Qianlong. Highlight: Though the pagoda has 9 levels total, the best views — and where most photos are taken — are from the 2nd floor. The lush greenery outside those windows is incredibly soothing.
