Lingfeng Tanmei

Lingfeng Tanmei is located in Qingzhiwu, Hangzhou Botanical Garden. During the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, the Lingfeng Zen Temple was built here. It became famous because of the Northern Song poet Su Dongpo's love for it and his poems about it. In 1844, hundreds of plum trees were planted around the temple. In 1909, more than 300 plum trees were planted from Laihe Pavilion to the inside and outside of the temple, and the Bumei Nunnery was built to the west of the temple. Because it is located in a valley, the plum blossoms in Lingfeng bloom earlier and wither later than those in other places. Therefore, it is one of the three best places to view plum blossoms in Hangzhou, along with Gushan and Xixi.
