Shuanglin Temple is small but impressive

Building layout - Three courtyards: The three courtyards are located along the central axis. The front courtyard is home to the Shijia Hall, Luohan Hall, Garan Hall, Tudi Hall, Dizang Hall, and Tianwang Hall. The middle courtyard is home to the Daxiong Hall and the Qianfo Hall and Pusa Hall on either side. The rear courtyard is home to the Niangniang Hall and Zhenyi Temple. - East and west areas: The temple is divided into east and west areas. The west area is home to the temple courtyard, while the east area is home to the Zen courtyard and scripture rooms. Artistic features - Large number of colored sculptures: The temple is home to over 2,000 colored sculptures from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, including statues of Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Arhats, and Vajras. - Exquisite colored sculpture art: The sculptures inherit the excellent traditions of the Tang, Song, Liao, Jin, and Yuan dynasties. They are highly realistic, using round carving and deep and shallow relief techniques, and adopting layered combinations and continuous wall sculptures. The figures have different identities and different expressions and postures.
