Hangzhou

Hangzhou is a major city in eastern China, a national historical and cultural city, an international comprehensive transportation hub, a national digital economy innovation center, a regional science and technology innovation hub, an advanced manufacturing base, a modern service center in eastern China, and an international tourist destination. After the Qin Dynasty unified the six states, a county was established at the foot of Lingyin Mountain, called Qiantang. In 589, Qiantang County was abolished and Hangzhou was established, marking the first appearance of the name Hangzhou in history. In 1912, the original Qiantang and Renhe counties were merged into Hang County. In 1927, the urban area of Hang County and other areas were designated as Hangzhou City.
