On the road: Wuling Congtai - a historical witness of Handan Zhaodu.

Handan was first used as a capital during the Warring States period of the Zhao Kingdom. If you want to find the relics of the Zhao Kingdom, you have to come to Congtai Park. There is also a Zhaodu site in Handan, but I didn't go there. It looks like a monument similar to a city wall on the street. Key points: 1. Wuling Congtai is located in Congtai Park in the city center; 2. It is an important group of buildings in the ancient city of Zhao Handan and a symbol of the ancient city of Handan; 3. According to the unearthed cultural relics, it was built during the Warring States period of Zhao Wuling King (325 BC-299 BC). It was a place for the king of Zhao to review the army and watch singing and dancing. It has a history of more than 2,000 years. 4. Wuling Congtai has many towers and is not a single one, so it is called Congtai. According to historical records, there were originally Tianqiao, Xuedong, Zhuangge, and Huayuan on Congtai. The scale is huge, the structure is peculiar, the decoration is wonderful, and the name is famous. 5. The existing Congtai was rebuilt during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, and it was rebuilt later. Especially after the liberation, after several major repairs, the Congtai Park centered on Wuling Congtai was gradually built. 6. Key cultural relics protection unit in Hebei Province; 7. There is a Handan city origin on the south side of Congtai, don't miss it; 8. The park is open for free and free to board. Wuling Congtai covers an area of 3,500 square meters and is 27 meters high. It is made of green bricks and is divided into three layers: upper, middle and lower. There is a door at the north and south of the lower layer. Enter the south gate and go up the steps to reach the middle layer of the platform. The middle layer of the platform has buildings such as Wuling Pavilion and Huixi Pavilion. From Huixi Pavilion to the east gate, follow the steps around and up to reach the upper level of Congtai. The upper level of the platform is round and has a Jusheng Pavilion. The area is 100 square meters and the height is 13 meters. It is a four-cornered double eaves with slightly raised corners. The four sides of Congtai are covered with flowers and plants. In the past more than 2,000 years, there have been many records of Congtai in historical books, and more than a hundred poems and essays by poets and writers since the Tang Dynasty have been handed down to the world. After a long period of time, Congtai is no longer the original appearance, but it is still a witness to the history of Zhaodu. There is also a Qixian Temple in the park to commemorate the meritorious officials of the Zhao Kingdom such as Lian Po, Lin Xiangru, and Zhao She.
