Hayao Miyazaki's Tribute to Kenji Miyazawa

Animation master Hayao Miyazaki once said, "There has always been a lively and energetic child living in my heart, and this child is the projection of Kenji Miyazawa in my soul." This statement reflects the high regard Kenji Miyazawa holds in the hearts of Japanese people. Born in Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture, Miyazawa was not only a poet, fairy tale writer, and cello enthusiast but also an agricultural reformer, religious thinker, and scientist. Visiting Hanamaki feels like stepping into the utopia he envisioned, surrounded by pure and serene air. While "Shohei Ohtani" is the new generation's pride of Hanamaki, Miyazawa's influence spans a century and touches all fields, earning him the title of Japan's national poet. A trip to Tohoku and a visit to Hanamaki makes me want to embrace the childlike soul of Kenji Miyazawa in my own heart!
