Sengokuhara & Owakudani: A Beautiful Detour and Volcanic Wonders! 🌿🌋

#summervacay I recently experienced the stunning beauty of Sengokuhara and the unique landscape of Owakudani. I actually stumbled upon the incredible scenery of Sengokuhara on my way to Owakudani and just had to pull over to explore! Even on a cloudy day, the vast expanse of green was absolutely breathtaking. As someone who loves green, I was thrilled! Walking along the gravel path, the views just kept getting better, and the open fields offered a wonderful sense of peace and calm. Then, at Owakudani, the active volcano, the sulfur smell in the air was certainly noticeable, but it was nowhere near as strong as what I experienced at Jigokudani in Noboribetsu, Hokkaido! The famous black eggs are a must-try – you get four for ¥500. There are also some great local specialties and souvenirs worth picking up. While you can take a cable car to see the volcano from above, I found that simply viewing it directly was impressive enough, watching the steam billow out.
