I've been to Haikou five times, and here's my travel guide! Inspired by a song to visit a city

For me, it was the song "Please Come to Tianya Haijiao." The cheerful, tempting lyrics, "Please come to Tianya Haijiao, where spring is eternal, the warm breeze on Hainan Island, beautiful flowers will fill your heart with joy," although not specifically about Haikou, made this city in Hainan, with its enchanting tropical scenery, the first to capture my heart, making me long for a visit. In March, filled with anticipation, I embarked on my Haikou journey. Check out my travel guide! 🌆Haikou, located in the northern part of Hainan Island, is a city brimming with tropical charm and historical significance. Here, you'll find the solemn Tomb of Hai Rui, with ancient cypress trees and silent tombstones, bearing the weight of history; the charming Qilou Old Street, lined with Nanyang-style buildings, stained glass, and carved doors and windows, showcasing exotic charm; and the sparkling Holiday Beach, with white sand, clear waves, and swaying coconut trees, a perfect place for leisure and relaxation. Haikou in March is sunny, with pleasant temperatures and blooming flowers, resembling a vibrant oil painting. 🚗Transportation Guide ✈️Airplane: After arriving at Haikou Meilan International Airport, the airport bus provides economical access to various stops in the city. A taxi ride to the city center takes about 30 minutes, easily starting your exploration of Coconut City. The airport also seamlessly connects to the around-the-island high-speed rail, making travel super convenient. 🚗The city bus operates mostly from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. You can use Alipay or WeChat's bus QR code for payment. Check the bus app for real-time information before traveling. If you want to freely explore the attractions, renting an electric scooter is a great option, allowing you to enjoy the sea breeze and stop to admire the scenery at any time. 🗺Recommended Itinerary Day1️⃣: Qilou Old Street - Clock Tower - Haikou Museum - Evergreen Park (Stroll through the old streets in the morning, experience the Nanyang charm, visit the Clock Tower and Museum to learn about history, and take a walk in Evergreen Park in the evening to enjoy the city's night view) Day2️⃣: Tomb of Hai Rui - Five Officials' Temple - Qiongtai Academy (Pay respects to Hai Rui in the morning, explore historical sites, visit the Five Officials' Temple in the afternoon to experience the character of ancient figures, and visit Qiongtai Academy to appreciate the cultural heritage) Day3️⃣: Holiday Beach - Xixiu Beach - Crater Geological Park (Enjoy the beach sunshine during the day, swim, surf, and visit the Crater Park in the evening to explore the volcanic wonders and watch the sunset) 🌟Must-See Attractions 📍Qilou Old Street: Stepping into this street is like entering a time tunnel. Some of the unique Qilou buildings can be visited inside, offering a great atmosphere for taking photos. The Clock Tower and Haikou Museum are free, providing insights into the city's past. Evergreen Park is free and suitable for leisure. Remember to take mosquito repellent and sunscreen. 2. Tickets for the Tomb of Hai Rui, Five Officials' Temple, and Qiongtai Academy can be purchased on-site or online. It's recommended to hire a guide for a deeper understanding of the historical stories. Wear comfortable clothing. 3. Holiday Beach is free, but water activities are charged separately. Choose reputable vendors. Xixiu Beach is similar, where you can experience windsurfing and other sports. The Crater Geological Park ticket includes a guided tour. Wear sports shoes and be careful when hiking and enjoying the scenery. 🍜Local Food Recommendations 🥘Hainan Noodles: This is Haikou's signature dish. Thin rice noodles are served with beef jerky, peanuts, sesame seeds, and other rich toppings, drizzled with special gravy. Mix well, and the aroma is irresistible. A bowl in the early morning is both warming and appetizing👍 🥥Qingbuliang: Made with red beans, mung beans, barley, and other ingredients, mixed with coconut milk or sugar water, it's a refreshing and thirst-quenching treat. The hotel has comprehensive dining and entertainment facilities. 💖Travel Experience During these three days in March in Haikou, I felt immersed in a charming and leisurely world. The ancient charm of Qilou Old Street, the romance of Holiday Beach, and the delicious food all captivated me. Humming "Please Come to Tianya Haijiao" while strolling through the streets of Haikou, I truly felt the city's allure.
