Hwagae market - Shopping the traditional way

At the mountain foot of Jirisan near Hadong valley, lies a petite yet vibrate marketplace. This marketplace was established several hundred years ago during Joseon dynasty for merchants around the region to gather and sell/trade their goods as transportation is very inconvenient at the olden days. Today, it remained vibrant especially during weekend where people around the region and city area escape for a weekend getaway to visit and grab some high quality goods especially mushrooms, herbs and persimmons. There are also marketplace restaurants serving traditional food like bibimbap, dcallion pancake, beef soup with rice, raw freshwater fish etc. A truly great experience to visit and shop the traditional way. #fallingforfall #tripblazers
