🏨 Ski In & Out is super convenient, but...🥲｜Even the beautiful snow scenery can't save it😫｜ANA Crowne Plaza Resort Appi Kogen

The concept of Ski In & Ski Out is very attractive to ski enthusiasts. There is a ski resort right outside the door and a cable car station next to it. After skiing, you can go directly back to the hotel to rest. It is convenient and fast! This time we stayed at ANA Crowne Plaza Resort Appi Kogen in Appi Kogen. Here is a detailed experience sharing to let you know the pros and cons of this hotel. 🗻About accommodation at Appi Kogen Ski Resort - There are three hotels in Appi Kogen Ski Resort, all of which belong to the IHG InterContinental Hotels Group: 🏨 ANA InterContinental Resort Appi Kogen 🏨 ANA Crowne Plaza Resort Appi Kogen 🏨 ANA Holiday Inn Resort Appi Kogen - These hotels are located in front of the ski resort, and the cable car station is just a few steps away from the room⛷️, realizing true Ski In & Ski Out, attracting many ski enthusiasts to stay. (All at your own expense) We chose ANA Crowne Plaza Resort Appi Kogen, which was renamed in December 2021. Its biggest selling point is the convenience of Ski In & Ski Out. It takes about 1.5 hours by bus from JR Morioka Station to the hotel entrance. The transportation is relatively convenient and very friendly to skiers. However, the check-in experience was not satisfactory. 🏢 Hotel exterior and room facilities - The hotel's exterior is khaki in color, which contrasts sharply with the white snow, but it lacks aesthetic appeal and looks old and dull 😕. - We stayed in a Premium Twin Beds with 2 Sofa Beds room. The room conditions are as follows: - The space is large, but the facilities are old. The carpet, wardrobe, table, cabinet and sofa all have obvious signs of age. The bathroom is a typical Japanese style with all-plastic material. - The room is clean and odorless. After turning on the humidifier at night, the sleep quality is pretty good🛌 - The rooms with mountain views can see a silvery white snow, the scenery is still very charming❄️ 🍽️ Dining Experience This was our biggest disappointment, the dining experience did not feel at all commensurate with the room rate. - Buffet dinner and breakfast experience provided by the hotel: - The restaurant is filled with a strong smell of oil smoke, which makes people feel a little uncomfortable from the moment they enter the door🤢 - The buffet restaurant is overcrowded and you need to "fight" for food with other guests🍽️ - The food quality is average, it feels like the standard of a cheap canteen. Although it is filling, the overall experience is very poor 🥲 - After eating, I was full of fumes and had to go back to the room to take a shower again🛁 🛁 Bathhouse and hot spring experience - There are simple bathing areas and pools on site, where you can relax after skiing, but the facilities are rather basic. - Guests staying overnight will receive a free coupon for Shirakaba Onsen, which is about 10 minutes away by shuttle bus: - The Baihua Hot Spring is an open-air design with multiple hot spring pools. The environment is very comfortable and the bathing experience is relaxing🛀 - The hot spring provides a set of towels for each person, so you don't need to bring your own, which is very considerate🪥 - The only small drawback is that the vending machine in the hot spring does not sell milk. If you want to drink milk, it is recommended to buy it in advance at the store. 🧐Summary and suggestions - advantage - Ski In & Ski Out is very convenient. The hotel is within walking distance to the ski resort, which is very convenient for ski enthusiasts⛷️ - The room is large, the view is beautiful, and the sleeping environment is good🛌 - The free Baihua Hot Spring voucher is a plus, the hot spring experience is great🛀 - shortcoming - The hotel facilities are old, and the exterior and interior of the room lack freshness and modernity😕 - The buffet dining experience is very poor, the quality does not match the room rate, and it makes people feel that the cost performance is low🍴 - The room rate is high, and the overall comfort level is not as good as other small hotels that are a little further away from the ski resort but have better services Although the convenience of Ski In & Ski Out is impeccable, the room comfort and food quality here are somewhat disappointing compared to other small hotels more than 10 minutes' drive from the ski resort. If you are looking for the convenience of skiing and don't have high requirements for facilities and dining, this hotel may be suitable for you. But if you value accommodation comfort and dining experience more, you can consider a small hotel that is a little further away from the ski resort, which may be more cost-effective.
