Recommended time to visit Baihaba: 0.5–1 day The small village of Baihaba doesn't have the beautiful mountains and rivers of Kanas, nor is it as stunning as the village of Hemu. The biggest highlight here is the relatively more tranquil atmosphere. Due to its remote location, Baihaba has far fewer tourists than Kanas and Hemu, and is less commercialized. If you want to experience the original appearance of the villages in northern Xinjiang, Baihaba is a better choice. Baihaba also has its own unique scenery. As the "first village in the northwest," it is only a few kilometers from the border between China and Kazakhstan. The China-Kazakhstan Border Grand Canyon, 10 km west of the village (in the direction of Habahe), is even closer to a foreign land. The No. 5 boundary marker, 3 km from the village, is periodically closed for border defense reasons. You can ask local villagers for real-time information. In addition, Baihaba often has beautiful morning fog, and the sunset here is a must-see. Due to the west-facing terrain of the village, the sunset is a magnificent sight. From May to October 15 each year, external vehicles are not allowed to enter Baihaba.
