This border town is so beautiful!

Jilong Town, an important transportation hub between China, Nepal and India in ancient times, is still an important land port leading to Nepal today. "Jilong" means "comfortable village" and "happy village" in Tibetan. The legend goes that Jilong got its name from the fact that in the late 8th century, when Trisong Detsen invited Guru Padmasambhava from India to Tibet, the Guru and his entourage passed through Jilong Valley (now the area of ​​Jilong Town) and stayed here for a night. The master was deeply moved by the picturesque scenery of this place. He was even more amazed by the fact that the water in the valley was as white as milk and the pebbles at the bottom of the stream were as smooth as jade. So, before leaving the next day, he gladly named this place "Jilong" to express his infinite praise, and the name "Jilong" has been passed down to this day. The Pakpa Temple in the town is a thousand-year-old temple, built at the same time as the Jokhang Temple in Lhasa. It is said to be one of the temples built in the border town when Songtsen Gampo invited Princess Chizun of Nepal. Its architectural style mainly follows the format of Nepalese temples. The spring flowers make the town even more beautiful.
