Cheomseongdae Astronomical Observatory

#localescapes Gyeongju Pink Mully, where the news of enlightenment is heard around the Chuseok holiday. It's one of the famous pink muhly spots in Korea. The Cheomseongdae Pink Mulley colony is a good place for a day trip to Gyeongju to see autumn flowers along with the Cheomseongdae Wild Flower Complex. I think there are a lot of people who are curious about the time of enlightenment. As of September 27th, it seems to have bloomed more than 50% so that it may be faster than expected. It looks like more than 70 percent. Even if you travel to Gyeongju in a nearby area or by train, it's worth going out on a day trip in Korea. I think it would be okay to go see pink mully for about a day because the Chuseok holiday is long.

Cheomseongdae Observatory

Exploring Gyeongju, the ancient capital of Silla, takes you on a history-packed journey, from UNESCO temples to sunset-lit palace ponds! ๐ŸŒ‡๐Ÿ“œ Hereโ€™s a quick and culture-loaded 2-day itinerary to get the best sights and flavors. Day 1: Kick off your adventure at Bulguksa, a legendary Buddhist temple. Take bus #10 from Gyeongju Station for easy transit. Next up: hike or cab your way to Seokguram Grotto for epic mountain views and iconic Buddha statues (bring cash for the entrance fee!). After lunch, stroll through Daereungwon Tomb Complexโ€”massive grassy mounds hiding ancient royals. From there, itโ€™s a short walk to Cheomseongdae Observatory (839-1 Inwang-dong; open 09:00-22:00) โ€” snap pics at the worldโ€™s oldest existing astronomical observatory, especially awesome at dusk! Wrap up your day with sunset at Donggung Palace & Wolji Pond, then stroll Hwangnidan-gil street for hip cafรฉs and dinner joints (tip: try the fusion Korean pizza!). Day 2: Morning at the Gyeongju National Museumโ€”free entry and mind-blowing Silla artifacts. Hop on a local bus or grab a taxi to Poseokjeong Pavilion, a tranquil, less-crowded archaeological gem. Midday, head over to Bomun Lakeโ€”perfect for a lakeside coffee and chill stroll. Donโ€™t skip the famed Hwangnam bread from a local bakery! End with a relaxing session at a jjimjilbang (Korean sauna)โ€”your secret weapon for beating travel fatigue. Getting Around: Buses cover all major sights, but taxis are affordable and save time, especially if youโ€™re short on days. Destination Tips: Gyeongju can get crowded on weekendsโ€”go early and buy tickets onsite. Spring/fall offers the best weather. Most places take card, but smaller shops sometimes want cash. #GyeongjuTravel #SillaAdventure #FoodieFinds #KoreaTips
