Experience at Amber Hotel, Guanshanhu, Guiyang

First of all, this is truly a hidden gem of a hotel, absolutely the best in Guiyang, highly recommended for everyone to experience. I came to Guiyang on a business trip alone and stayed at the Amber brand for the first time. It seems to be the most expensive basic room type in Guiyang now, and it is definitely worth the price. According to the hotel introduction, this is a French brand, exactly a century old, but it has always been family-operated, so the scale is not large. The brand was just acquired by their owner, and currently, there are also Amber hotels in Chengdu and Leshan. The hotel is now in the same building as Hilton Hampton, with the main entrance next to it, which looks inconspicuous. The hotel introduction says it is designed to feel like a private residence, which is acceptable. Floors above the 19th are all Amber, with a gym but no pool, totaling 88 rooms, a boutique hotel scale. The hotel corridor has many arched elements, and the front desk and lobby bar are on the 20th floor. At first sight, I was amazed by the greenery everywhere. Walking through to the back of the lobby bar feels like a beautifully decorated cave. The concierge staff was waiting by my side the whole time and even brought a welcome drink, a warm pear soup with a hint of ginger. I complimented it as quite tasty. After getting the room card, I passed through an atrium with snow-white walls, said to be 30 meters high, with naked-eye 3D projections on the walls. The corridor on the guest room side has submarine-like round porthole windows, which are quite interesting. Entering the room, the concierge introduced that the mini-bar is free, and the hotel can replenish it if used up. The drinks in the fridge are also rich, all non-alcoholic. The bed in the room is very comfortable, and the bathrobe is very soft. Probably because of Dyson, the hairdryer is placed on the washstand instead of in the drawer. The hotel also has butler service throughout. From the time I booked the room a few days ago, someone has been contacting me by phone and WeChat, confirming my itinerary, introducing hotel facilities, etc. I mentioned before that I don't like pillows that are too soft for sleeping, and after checking in, they immediately sent a latex pillow. I had forgotten about it myself. In the evening, I went out for dinner and came back to find the bed turned down, with a face mask on the bedside table. Turning around, I saw a small pear soup and dessert by the coffee machine. I don't know if it was because I complimented it during check-in, but I quite liked it. The next day, after washing up, the butler sent a message introducing breakfast. I tried the Guiyang specialty Changwang noodles as recommended, which were quite delicious. People who like offal would find it irresistible, but I guess it would be spicier and more enjoyable if eaten outside. The chef team is said to be from Shanghai, and the quality of the dishes is very high. Many dining tables in the restaurant have a large teddy bear, though I don't know if there is a specific cultural IP behind it. For a moment, I thought I was staying at the Langham. When leaving, waiting for the car to arrive, it was quite cold on the first floor because there was no glass door. The concierge immediately brought me a bottle of water. I initially thought I wouldn't drink it, but she said it was warm water to warm my hands. Wow, I instantly felt so nice.
