Checking in at Jiaxiu Tower, the number one scenic spot in Guiyang

Where is the most famous place in Guiyang city? Undoubtedly, it is Jiaxiu Tower. Jiaxiu Tower is located on the Nanming River and was first built in 1598. The building is based on a huge rock in the river, and it has been repaired and renovated through the ages. The existing structure was rebuilt in the first year of the Xuantong Emperor of the Qing Dynasty. Jiaxiu Tower has three levels, with white stone balustrades. The structure narrows with each ascending level, and it is about 20 meters high from the bridge to the top of the tower. The Nanming River flows past the tower, forming the Hanbi Pond; on the side of the tower, the stone arch 'Floating Jade Bridge' connects the two banks, and there is a small pavilion on the bridge named 'Hanbi Pavilion'; the whole structure features vermillion beams and green tiles, with a three-story, three-eaved, four-cornered spire roof.
