Historic riverside walk in Guangzhou

We walked from Sacred heart Cathedral down to the river, and along the riverside to Shamian Island. This historic street of buildings was very impressive. We passed the Nanfang building, which is 100 years old this year and used to be the tallest building in all of China even though its only 12 floors high. Then we walked past the old customs and mail museum, and the Venice and Aiqun hotels. The taiyinglou Di'an Assembly is a very interesting building with a cool history, it has been converted into a coffee shop. All of these buildings and Shaming Island are popular spots for couple's wedding photos so expect to see many photoshoots going on. #staycation #historicculture
