Guangzhou travel plan for 4 days and 3 nights | Day 3 🇨🇳 广州

- Okay, today we started around 10:00 AM. We didn't go out for breakfast today, so we ate the huge amount of snacks we'd bought the night before instead. We checked out of the hotel, returned the key, left our luggage, and then quickly headed out to Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, the Chen family's residence. We took metro line 1: Gong Yuanqian -> Chen Clan Academy. The train stops right in front, which was very convenient. It wasn't crowded in the morning, so we could leisurely stroll around. The entrance fee was 10 yuan. The interior was very grand, with stunning Chinese architecture. - We left Chen Clan Ancestral Hall around 11:00 AM, then headed to WanGuo Outlet. It was getting hot, so we needed to go shopping. We used the metro as usual, because it was cheap, convenient, and not too far to walk. We took line 1: Chen Clan Academy -> Gong Yuanqian, then changed to line 2 and got off at The 2nd Workers' Cultural Palace. It was a short walk and we arrived. There were so many brands, including Nike, Adidas, The North Face, Columbia, Sketchers, etc., and they had almost every brand, and they were all heavily discounted. Shopping was a blast! And we skipped plain water and drank Hey Tea again, as usual. It was the third day, with Hey Tea everywhere. We chose to drink Hey Tea everywhere we went. 🤣 - After a little shopping, we took DiDi to Parc Central to continue shopping. Today, we had no plans other than shopping because the next day was an early flight back home, so we picked up everything we wanted to buy that day. But before going shopping, we had lunch at Fei Da Chu at TeeMall in TianHe, next to Parc Central. It was delicious and the portions were large. - After eating, it was time to continue shopping. We went to the mall area, starting from TeeMall, Parc Central, and GrandView Mall. We walked back and forth. We went to WOW Colour to look at some makeup. Then it started to rain. It was good that it rained while we were inside the mall, or we would have gotten soaked. 🥺 - When the rain stopped, we walked to W. Management, located outside GrandView Mall. The upper floor looked small, but when we walked down the stairs, we were amazed. It was so big we couldn't even finish it all. There were so many clothes. There were so many different styles, it was so much fun to browse around! 5 ... So I decided to stay at a hotel near the airport. - Once we arrived at the hotel, we started adding more luggage because shopping was so much fun, we didn't even think about going back home. 🤣 That's it! Slept. #GetDiscountsWithoutLuck #china #guangzhou #travelinchina

Chen Clan Ancestral Hall

In Guangzhou? A visit to the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, 陈家祠, is a must. Dating originally to the late Qing Dynasty (though heavily restored in parts), the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall is one of the finest examples of Lingnan architecture and art. In addition to the building itself, richly ornamented with wood and stone carving and ceramic decorations, it is home to the Guangdong Folk Arts Museum, a small but excellently curated display of permanent and rotating exhibits including Chaozhou woodcarving, ceramics, ivory carving, embroidery, paper cutting and more. This is a place I always bring visitors to Guangzhou. Place: Chen Clan Ancestral Hall 陈家祠 Getting there: Metro Station Chen Clan Academy 地铁站陈家祠站 Admission: ¥10 (bring your ID) Recommended for: Tourists, locals, photography, history, architecture, art, culture. #qingmingtravel #urbanexplorer #lightthecity #lightthecityGuangzhou #guangzhou #guangzhouPhotoSpot #guangdong #lingnan #architecture #art #museum #culture #culturetrip #daytrip #staycation #china

Chen Clan Ancestral Hall

Step into a living masterpiece at the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall 🏯✨—an iconic display of grand transitional design in the heart of Guangzhou! Marvel at the fusion of classical Lingnan architecture and intricate folk art, making this a must-see for history and design lovers. Set your day for culture: Arrive early to wander the tranquil courtyards and admire the masterfully carved roofs and stone pillars. Follow the central axis through the main halls to grasp the symmetry, pause to soak in ornamental woodwork, and keep your eyes peeled for vivid ceramic figurines lining the ridges—those detail shots are insta-gold if you angle upwards with muted light. Snap the roof corner dragons and bustling entrance for guaranteed show-stoppers! Don’t miss the museum exhibition rooms, tucked behind decorative screens (look for shadow play moments). For an immersive experience, walk a slow loop around the outer corridors—local guides often share stories about the hall’s transformation over the years. Practical tip: Avoid Tuesdays—it's closed! Opening hours shift with the seasons, so from Apr 15–Oct 15, you get a longer window (until 6 pm). Last tickets are sold half an hour before closing, so time your visit well if you’re aiming for sunset tones. Bring cash or your phone for payments, the hall’s admission is ¥77. Key precautions: Some areas have low lighting—watch your step on the polished stone floors. Photos are welcome, but be respectful during any cultural events in progress. #Guangzhou #ChenClanAncestralHall #GrandDesign #LingnanArchitecture #TravelChina
