A Hidden Ancient Treasure in Guangzhou — FREE Entry & Studio-Level Photos!
#guangzhoutrip
Step into a real-life anime scene inspired by Big Fish & Begonia!
If you’re in Guangzhou and wondering where to go for a weekend escape without leaving the city—look no further.
Tucked away in Panyu lies one of the city’s newest and most photogenic ancient-style landmarks: Chi Song Palace (赤松宫).
Every corner is camera-ready, and the best part? It’s totally free to enter!
After ten years of reconstruction, Chi Song Palace rises with the grandeur of the Tang Dynasty, infused with the spirit of Lingnan culture.
The main structure is shaped like a massive gourd, symbolizing blessings and prosperity—a design both symbolic and breathtaking.
It’s no exaggeration to say: you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a scene from a Chinese fantasy movie.
Top 3 Must-Shoot Photo Spots (aka “Divine Angles”)
1. The Celestial Theatre at Star Pavilion (星宿殿)
Climb to the 2nd-floor balcony on the west side and use a wide-angle lens to capture the full curve of the circular theatre.
The sweeping blue roof tiles mimic the shape of a giant mythical fish, just like the iconic scenes from Big Fish & Begonia.
2. Heavenly Steps at Sanqing Hall (三清殿)
Stand at the bottom of the 99-step staircase and shoot upward—paired with the clouds above, it creates an illusion of stairs to the heavens.
3. Golden Smoke Trail at the God of Wealth Hall (财神殿)
Crouch low and wait for the incense smoke to align with the temple’s golden rooftop line—turn on live mode and catch the smoke dancing like a dragon in the clouds.
Express Tour Tips (Guangzhou “Special Forces” Style)
• Metro: Take Line 4 to Shiqi Station (Exit A) → taxi for about 14 RMB to Chi Song Palace.
• By Car: Navigate to “赤松宫停车场”, parking only 10 RMB/day.
• Opening Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, free admission + complimentary incense sticks (3 per person).
Suggested Walking Route
Follow this optimized sightseeing path to experience the palace from spiritual to architectural highlights:
Lingguan Hall → Bell & Drum Tower → Dragon King Hall → God of Wealth Hall → Pujie Hall → Yuanchen Hall → Star Pavilion → Sanqing Hall → Exhibition Hall → Cihang Hall
South China Botanical Garden: A Natural Paradise in the City
Friends, the South China Botanical Garden in Guangzhou is a rare natural treasure!
Stepping into the garden feels like entering a kingdom of plants. It is home to countless rare and exotic plants, with vibrant flowers competing for attention. Strolling through the tropical rainforest area, you'll find towering trees that block out the sun, intertwined vines, and misty air, as if you've been transported to the mysterious Amazon.
Inside the greenhouse, desert plants come in various shapes and forms, with cacti and succulents blending seamlessly with their surroundings. In the garden, roses, peonies, and other flowers exude a rich fragrance and display a riot of colors.
The garden offers a serene environment and fresh air, making it an ideal place to relax and learn. Whether you're on a family outing, a romantic walk, or seeking solitude, the South China Botanical Garden promises an unforgettable experience. Come and embrace the charm of nature!
Not Suzhou, but Guangzhou‼ ️My favorite Lingnan garden appeared
Pavilions, towers, bridges and flowing water, all the mountains and waters can be seen within a hundred steps.
The aesthetics of our ancestors are truly amazing.
Every shot is a painting...
.
I originally thought that the yellow wind chime was beautiful enough.
Until I met the more unique white bell tree here...
This kind of white-flowered trumpet tree is more photogenic when photographed on cloudy days.
Paired with antique buildings, it is super poetic!
.
The snow-white, milky flower balls are so beautiful and romantic...
So much more beautiful than the yellow and purple varieties!
It’s blooming season now! #NewYearGoodDestinations2025 #GuangzhouItinerary #twinings #WeekendGoodDestinations

Guangzhou check-in daily|Hong Kong milk, Zhujiang New Town travel notes ☕️🏙️🎭
#Mainland Travel
Today’s trip is super chill! First, I checked in at Guangzhou Liyuan for the popular Hong Kong milk tea. I fell in love with the rich and smooth silk stocking milk tea as soon as I took a sip. The tea flavor was strong enough and the milk flavor was just right. It was really a cup of "Cantonese soul" 🧋✨
After drinking milk tea, I walked all the way to the outside of Guangzhou Opera House. The modern building looks very futuristic in the sun. Many people take pictures and practice dancing here. The whole atmosphere is very energetic.
Finally, I took a walk around the Guangzhou Tower. The river view in the evening with the breeze was super romantic (although I walked alone haha), but it was really worth coming here to relax, take pictures, and watch the sunset 🌇✨
There is no need to arrange too many itineraries. Simply walking around the city is also a very healing way to travel.
HEYTEA Guide · A must-visit list for milk tea lovers
#Mainland Travel
✨🧋"Every bite tastes like inspiration!"🧋✨
If you are a milk tea lover, you definitely can’t miss HEYTEA! This internet-famous milk tea brand from Guangdong is well-known nationwide for its "cheese milk cap". It is not only beautiful but also has a layered taste!
Top 3 must-drink recommendations
1️⃣ Zhizhi Succulent Grapes: Most popular! There is a lot of grape pulp, paired with a dense cheese milk topping, it is sweet but not greasy, and super thirst-quenching! 🍇
2️⃣ Xile Lemon Tea: Super refreshing, with just the right amount of sweetness and sourness. A cup in the summer will cool you down instantly! 🍋🧊
3️⃣ Succulent Berry: A favorite of strawberry lovers, full of fruity aroma, every bite is as sweet as love! 🍓
Tips
✅ You can choose "less sugar / less ice" or "hot drink" to customize the taste according to your preference
✅ It is recommended to use the official mini program / App to order food, saving time in queuing and participating in point collection activities! 📱
✅ Some city stores have a strong sense of design, and you can also take beautiful photos and check in! 📸
Milk tea + dessert is perfect!
Some branches also sell HEYTEA dessert series, such as milk cakes and small ice creams, which go perfectly with milk tea. The afternoon tea happiness index is full marks~🍰🍦
Whether you are in Yangchun, Guangzhou or other cities, when you pass by HEYTEA, you might as well stop and order a cup of your own inspiration drink to make your day more flavorful! 🧋✨
🚄✨ Guangzhou South Station High Speed Rail Guide & Delay Coping Tips
#Mainland Travel
Guangzhou South Railway Station is one of the busiest high-speed rail hubs in the country. It is recommended that you arrive at least 40 minutes early because the security queues, crowd guidance and waiting lines are relatively complicated. The most convenient way to get to Guangzhou South Station is by taking Metro Line 2. It is a smooth journey without having to transfer. It is highly recommended! 🛤️🧳
If you are a commuter like me and are in a hurry to catch a train, what should you do if the first train is delayed and you miss the next one? Don't panic! Remember to go to the crew service center in the high-speed rail station or find the station staff to explain the situation as soon as possible. They will usually help you change your ticket or arrange a seat on the next flight based on the cause of the delay, without any additional charge! 🎫✅
I usually use Trip.com (Ctrip International Edition) to book tickets. Not only is the interface simple and payment convenient, but I can also check the remaining tickets and delay information in real time, which saves time and gives me peace of mind! 📱📍
Whether it is a business trip or a short trip, with planning and filing, you can calmly cope with every journey! High-speed rail is convenient, but don’t forget to leave yourself some extra time so that your journey will be more pleasant! ✌️
Chen Clan Academy · An art palace with ancient Cantonese charm 🏛️🖌️🧧
#Mainland Travel
When you come to Guangzhou, you must not miss the Chen Clan Academy, which is known as the "Treasure House of Lingnan Architectural Art"! The Chen Clan Academy, located in Liwan District, is an academy built with funds raised by members of the Chen family during the Qing Dynasty. It has now become one of Guangzhou's most representative historical and cultural landmarks.
When you enter the ancestral hall, you can immediately feel the strong Lingnan style. Whether it is the exquisite and intricate plaster sculptures on the roof, the colorful pottery sculptures, or the delicate craftsmanship on the wood and stone carvings, every corner reveals the wisdom and ingenuity of traditional craftsmen. 🧱🎨✨
The atmosphere in the temple is solemn and dignified, with a gentle breeze blowing through the corridors and sunlight shining through the window lattices onto the ancient bluestone floor. Everything seems so quiet and elegant. Especially when you look up at the carved beams and painted buildings, it really makes you want to take several pictures in a row! 📸📜
Visiting tips:
• It is recommended to visit on weekdays when there are fewer crowds and you can appreciate the details more carefully.
• You can take Metro Line 1 and get off at Chen Clan Academy Station. It is very convenient! 🚇
• You may want to bring your camera or mobile phone with you to take some fill-in lighting. The architectural details here are perfect for photographing!
• There is also Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street nearby, so you can arrange a half-day cultural + food tour together! 🍜🛍️
Chen Clan Academy is not only an ancestral hall, but also a microcosm of Guangdong folk art. Here, you can see the delicacy and refinement of Lingnan culture, and also experience the historical heritage of old Guangzhou. If you love traditional art and ancient architecture, this place is definitely worth savoring slowly!
Daily shopping in Beijing Road · Encountering Rainbow Bear and Big Buddha Ancient Temple 🛍️🐻✨
#Mainland Travel
Today I went shopping in Beijing Road in Guangzhou. It really gets more lively as the night goes on, with a constant stream of people, and it was a great atmosphere to shop there! As we were walking, we unexpectedly met a super huge rainbow bear. It was so cute and eye-catching that it immediately became the focus of everyone's photo taking. It was really dreamy! 📸
In addition to trendy shops and special snacks, you can also catch a glimpse of ancient charm on Beijing Road - that is the Big Buddha Ancient Temple. Walking out of the modern business district and turning a corner, you suddenly see an ancient temple. The contrast is like traveling through time, making you slow down and appreciate it quietly. 🪷
Beijing Road is not only a shopping paradise, but also a journey where history and modernity interweave. Walking here, you can really feel the diverse charm of Guangzhou!

Daily shopping in Shamian + Discovering Shop by JPG coffee shop ☕🛍️
#Mainland Travel
Today I strolled through Guangzhou's Shamian District, basking in the warm sunshine. Shamian's classical architecture blends with modern atmosphere, giving people a peaceful and interesting feeling. The small streets and alleys in this area are full of retro atmosphere. There are little surprises hidden in every corner. From time to time, you can find some unique shops and interesting handicrafts. It is really comfortable to walk at a leisurely pace.
And in this quiet neighborhood, I discovered my favorite coffee brand - Shop by JPG! 😍 This store has a unique style, and the interior layout is full of art and modernity. Walking in is like entering a space full of creativity and inspiration. The coffee is rich and tasty, especially their latte, which is simply intoxicating. Every bite is full of aroma and accompanied by a silky taste, as if saying goodbye to the busy world for a while. ☕✨

Guangzhou Tram Guide | Moving scenery in the city 🚋🌆🌿
#Mainland Travel
If you want to appreciate the fusion of modernity and nature in Guangzhou in a slow-paced way, then taking the Guangzhou Tram is definitely a good choice! 🚋
The Guangzhou tram currently focuses on the Haizhu Loop Line, which is about 8 kilometers long and passes through many literary and tranquil stations, including the Guangzhou Tower, Chisha, Water Gate, Pazhou Tower, etc. It is not only convenient, but also allows you to enjoy the scenery along the Pearl River and the greenery of the city along the way. Guide to Meet Xiaomian Restaurant | A bowl of authentic Chongqing flavor, just the right amount of spicy! 🍜🌶️
#Mainland Travel
The moment you walk into "Meet Xiaomian", the aroma that hits your nose makes you instantly hungry! This Chongqing-style noodle restaurant has a clean and bright environment, with some interesting dialect slogans on the walls, and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. 🧱🖼️
I ordered a bowl of hot and sour noodles - it was quite spicy but not too spicy. I was sweating and super satisfied with every bite! The taste of Chongqing is really not just talk, the spicy flavor, the layered soup, the chewy and springy noodles, it is a soul-level heavy-tasting enjoyment. 🌶️🍜🔥
If you can't handle spicy food, they also have mild spicy or clear soup options, which is very considerate. The staff was also very friendly, the order was taken quickly, and the overall experience was great value for money. 💁♀️👍
Whether you want to have a bowl of noodles after get off work or satisfy your cravings on the weekend, "Meet the Noodles" is worth a try! Don’t forget to add a cold drink, it goes perfectly with the meal.

Standing at the axis of time, facing history|A spiritual journey at Guangzhou Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall
#Mainland Travel
Some places are not for seeing the scenery, but for seeing yourself.
The moment I walked into the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, I was not a traveler, I was a bystander of time.
You will find that the names we were taught and memorized in exams during those years are actually not just a few lines in history books. They are people who have truly burned for their beliefs.
At that moment, I thought, if what I believe in today also requires me to stand up, would I have that kind of determination?
This question has been lingering in my mind for a long time.
There is no need to take a lot of photos. Sit on the stone steps at the edge of the square, watch the wind blowing through the leaves, watch the elderly walking with their children, and watch the tourists talking in low voices.

Travel Notes of Guangzhou: Walking around Yongqingfang, I discovered a hidden gem of a morning tea shop!
#MarchGoodPlaces2025
When talking about Yongqingfang in Guangzhou, many people would first think of "checking in", "taking photos" and "literary style", but I didn't come here for those things at all. Actually, I just wanted to find a corner of old Guangzhou, walk around and see the quiet side of this city.
The Yongqingfang area has preserved many old Lingnan buildings, some of which have mottled walls that make them even more charming. The alley is not big, but it feels very lively when you turn around. Occasionally, when you pass by a coffee shop or a handicraft shop where people are sitting and painting or reading, you will feel that this place is not just a tourist attraction, but that people really live here.
But the biggest surprise was that after I walked out of Yongqingfang, I turned into a small hotel next door - they actually served morning tea! I didn’t expect that the highlight of this trip would be this authentic Cantonese breakfast!
The shrimp dumplings are crystal clear, the siu mai are full of meat fragrance, and the glutinous rice and chicken are tightly wrapped. Paired with a pot of hot tea, the whole person is warmed up. The "eat slowly, chat slowly" atmosphere of morning tea is really suitable for opening a leisurely prologue to the day.
Although Yongqingfang itself is not big, if you like the feeling of "encountering surprises while walking", this place will be very suitable for you. Next time you come to Guangzhou, don’t just remember Shangxiajiu and the night view of the Pearl River. Remember to visit Yongqingfang, find a small restaurant, have a heart-warming morning tea, and experience the real "taste of old Guangzhou".

【Wangchun Black Hot Pot|The spicy and fragrant soul is overflowing, worth savoring】
📍Location: Guangzhou
The first time I walked into Wangchunhei, the lights were hazy and the atmosphere was retro, as if I had traveled through time and space into an old movie. Even the air was filled with the aroma of butter in a hot pot. As soon as the pot is served, the spicy taste rushes directly into the nose, not choking, but spicy with fragrance.

Friends who like beef please remember the name of this restaurant: Xu Fu Beef. It is not decorated in an extravagant way like those Internet celebrity restaurants. Instead, it is quietly open and the food tastes really good.

Guangzhou Suburban Accommodation Recommendation---Hampton by Hilton Guangzhou Jinshazhou
Hampton by Hilton Guangzhou Jinshazhou, a hotel that opened in 2022, is modern, spacious, and stylishly decorated. Plus, the price is very affordable, making it a delightful place to stay!
Located in the suburban area of Guangzhou, near Xunfengshan Ecological Park, the hotel is accessible via the metro, so it's still quite convenient. The 39-square-meter twin room is stylish and spacious, and a night's stay with breakfast costs only 2,600 TWD, which is an incredible deal!
The hotel lobby is impressively designed, featuring a transparent glass column illuminated with mesmerizing blue light. Upon closer inspection, you'll find it's an aquarium housing jellyfish—how cool is that!

Learn to Take a Break with a Guangzhou Staycation
Tired of crowded tourist attractions?
I decided to recharge in a different way—by taking a vacation in my own city.
I stayed at the Ascott in Pazhou.
I didn't expect this staycation to bring me unexpected surprises.
·
[Lingnan Culture Meets Modern Art: A Delightful Stay]
The hotel is inspired by Lingnan culture, incorporating traditional elements such as kapok flowers and lion dances into modern designs, creating a unique artistic beauty.
The kapok flower art installation in the lobby also adds a highlight to the entire space.
The room I stayed in was spacious and bright, with a large bathtub 🛁.
The most surprising thing was the view from the floor-to-ceiling windows—the Canton Tower, Party Pier, Liede Bridge, and other landmark buildings were all within sight.
The bustling scene of Zhujiang New Town CBD was unobstructed.
In the evening, the afterglow of the setting sun sprinkled on the sparkling river 🌇.
After a short rest, I came to the Executive Lounge on the 24th floor with my bestie for afternoon tea 🥂.
Sitting by the floor-to-ceiling windows, I enjoyed the delicious food while overlooking the beautiful scenery of Guangzhou.
It was so pleasant.
·
In addition to the Executive Lounge, the hotel is also equipped with facilities such as a high-altitude swimming pool, gym, golf simulator, and family room to meet various needs~

A font size that will last a long time. The White Swan Hotel is very famous among the older generation. A must-visit place. After several iterations, it is still a memory in the hearts of most parents.
🌟
After all, it's famous.
The environment is first-class
Worth the price
Really good
A bit expensive though
And it is not friendly to late risers
There are two places to drink tea in the White Swan Hotel
They are Yu Nuan Chun Tang and Hong Tu Mansion.
The locations are upstairs and downstairs.
This time we dined at Yu Nuan Chun Tang (because we accept phone reservations)
Hongtu Mansion only accepts on-site queuing
🍽️
- Shrimp dumplings and pork ribs are delicious and worthy of the old brand (I will order them next time)
-Black pepper beef fillet noodles. Eat while hot. This is a stable product (try it).
- Terminalia salsa is delicious, but I personally feel it is overrated
- Fried dough sticks. A big portion. If you ask what fried air tastes like, this is what it should taste like.
⚠️Final reminder
· It is recommended to make reservations or queue up early
·Food for the soul, not for the price
