The emblem of the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games was inspired by the shape of the stone statue. I have seen it in elementary school textbooks and finally got to check it out. 2️⃣Nanming Shaowu Emperor and Minister Tomb (if you are interested in the history of the Southern Ming Dynasty, you can go there)🏅Title: Guangzhou Cultural Relics Protection Unit The Qing army marched southward, and the Southern Ming Emperor Shaowu, Prince of Tang Zhu Youqi, proclaimed himself emperor in Guangzhou. However, Guangzhou fell only 40 days later, and the Emperor Shaowu and a dozen of his ministers hanged themselves. Now there are only two steles, and next to it is the tomb of Wang Xing, a general of the Southern Ming Dynasty who fought against the Qing Dynasty. 3️⃣Guangzhou Museum (Zhenhai Tower) 🏅Title: National Key Cultural Relics Protection, First-Class Museum It was once one of the eight scenic spots in Guangzhou. The fee is 10r. The building mainly introduces the history of Guangzhou. You can climb to the top to enjoy the view, but the view is average. You can only see Yuexiu Stadium and Zhongshan Memorial. Outside the building, there are cannons, stele galleries, Guangzhou's old trams and other cultural relics on display. 4️⃣Guangzhou Ming City Wall 🏅Title: National Key Cultural Relics Protection Most of the city walls and gate towers in Guangzhou have been demolished, and only a section of the Ming city wall remains within Yuexiu Park, with a considerable portion near Zhenhai Tower. 5️⃣ The Tomb of Wu Tingfang and Wu Chaoshu (visit if you are interested in the history of the Republic of China) 🏅Title: Guangzhou Cultural Relics Protection Unit Wu Tingfang and his son Wu Chaoshu were both famous democratic revolutionaries. The two tombs were built in 1924 and 1963 respectively, and moved from Xianlie East Road to their current location in 1988. It is a granite Romanesque tomb pavilion, and there is a seated statue of Mr. Wu Tingfang on the east side of the tomb. 6️⃣ Sun Yat-sen Memorial 🏅Title: National Key Cultural Relics Protection It is located on the top of Yuejinggang Mountain in Yuexiu Mountain. It was designed by Lu Yanzhi, the designer of the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, and completed in 1930. It is made entirely of granite and has a square cone shape with a large top and a small bottom. The front of the monument is engraved with "The Prime Minister's Last Will and Testament". 7️⃣Sun Yat-sen Study and Administration Office Monument 🏅Title: Guangzhou Cultural Relics Protection Unit On the route out of the South Gate, there is only a concrete stone tablet left. This is the site of the "Yuexiu Tower" where Sun Yat-sen and his wife once lived. When Chen Jiongming rebelled in 1922, Sun Yat-sen and his wife escaped from here and boarded the Zhongshan Ship.
