🌟 The best place to experience the local culture of Guangzhou is none other than Xiguan, Guangzhou. The century-old arcade buildings and high-rise residences may be only a few hundred meters apart, but they seem to coexist harmoniously without any generational gap. 🌟 It is said that to see the old arcade areas of Guangzhou, Liwan has the 'Three Treasures': Baoyuan Road, Duobao Road, and Baohua Road. The homestay we are staying at today is right on Baoyuan Road. It is conveniently located, just a 5-minute walk from Changshou Road Metro Station. 🌟 The homestay features a Nanyang Republic retro style, showcasing the host's thoughtful design. Most of the original Xiguan features of the room have been preserved, such as the double-opening embossed glass bathroom door. A lot of gold accents have been used, bringing out a retro vibe. 🌟 What attracts me the most is a wall with retro dark green wallpaper, paired with a leather sofa, which looks stunning. The room has a vibe reminiscent of Wong Kar-wai's 'In the Mood for Love.' It's perfect for taking photos. 🌟 The room is not far from nearby attractions like Yongqingfang, Lychee Bay, Liwan Lake Park, and Shamian Island. It is very convenient in terms of transportation, with Yongqingfang being about a 10-minute walk away. The only downside of the room is the inherent structural issue of the brick-wood structure of Xiguan houses, which makes the sound insulation slightly poor. 🌟 If you also want to experience being a Xiguan lady or gentleman in Guangzhou, choosing this homestay is undoubtedly a good choice. Additionally, Guangzhou's weather is really hot, so remember to take sun protection measures.
