Tianren Mountain and Water Earth Art Park

Tianren Mountain and Water Earth Art Park is located in the hilly, lake, and valley areas of the Nanling mountain range on the Tropic of Cancer in Taiping Town, Conghua District, Guangzhou City, which includes an artificial lake, 'Shaxi Reservoir,' with a catchment area of 9.2 square kilometers and a storage capacity of 6 million cubic meters, covering about 10 square kilometers. The park covers an area of approximately 3456 acres and is the pearl of the Tropic of Cancer. The area has a subtropical monsoon climate. The climate is mild, and the rainfall is abundant. This pristine secondary forest is well protected and has become an excellent habitat for animals. Among the nearly hundred species of animals, 34 are listed in the 'National Protected Beneficial or Economically and Scientifically Valuable Terrestrial Wildlife' published by the National Forestry Department in August 2000. Tianren Mountain and Water has 335 species of vascular plants, including 22 species of ferns; gymnosperms of a kind; among angiosperms, there are 248 species of dicotyledons and 58 species of monocotyledons. The air in Tianren Mountain and Water is rich in negative oxygen ions, with measurements showing more than 2500 ions per cubic centimeter, and the highest recorded at over 19000 ions per cubic centimeter, making it the 'natural oxygen bar on the Tropic of Cancer.'
