It is the most magnificent twin-tower Gothic cathedral in the country and even in Southeast Asia, hence it is known as the 'Notre Dame de Paris in the Far East'. The Sacred Heart Cathedral is built of hundreds of thousands of granite, and is one of the four full-stone Gothic cathedrals in the world. It was built in 1863 and has a history of more than 160 years. Although the Sacred Heart Cathedral was designed by French designers, it was built by Chinese craftsmen. In an era when almost no one had seen Western cathedrals and there was a lack of machinery, it was not easy to build such a huge building by hand. Unlike the previous years, non-believers can no longer enter the Sacred Heart Cathedral from New Year's Day this year. Perhaps there are too many tourists coming here to take photos and check in! The two sides of the church square are Guangzhou's characteristic arcade group buildings, with many internet-famous snack restaurants.
