I initially came for the Sanxingdui Museum, drawn by my curiosity about the ancient Shu civilization and those captivating bronze masks. It was a truly worthwhile trip, a feast for the eyes! Experiencing it firsthand was profoundly different from seeing it online—absolutely breathtaking! After the museum, I spent a day exploring Guanghan. It's fascinating how, despite its proximity to Chengdu, it has retained a unique, laid-back small-town charm with a touch of refinement, especially noticeable at the hotel where I stayed. The hotel's layout and decor were thoughtfully designed, and the courtyard, brimming with flowers, evoked the elegance of a classical Jiangnan garden. In the late afternoon, the coffee shop buzzed with people of all ages, the atmosphere relaxed and inviting. Guanghan also boasts a rich culinary scene. Don't hesitate to ask hotel staff or taxi drivers for recommendations; they're happy to share local favorites. For those planning a visit to the Sanxingdui Museum, I recommend booking tickets in advance, especially for weekends. Guanghan offers a wide range of hotels at various price points.
