The temple's history dates back to the Jin Dynasty, originally named "Lingshan," and was renamed "Chongxiang" during the Sui Dynasty. In the early Tang Dynasty, it was granted the name "Chongxiang" and became the site of Dingguang Ancient Buddha. The temple reached its peak during the Sui and Tang Dynasties but was destroyed in the Ming Dynasty due to war. It was not until the 57th year of the Kangxi reign in the Qing Dynasty (1718) that the Mahavira Hall was rebuilt. 🌟 Features or Main Halls Chongxiang Temple is known for its cliff carvings, which began in the Sui Dynasty and continued until the Republic of China. These carvings are scattered on Dingguang Rock behind the temple, with nearly 50 niches containing over 400 statues. The Dingguang Buddha statue, carved in the 8th year of the Kaihuang reign in the Sui Dynasty (588), is particularly noteworthy. Bus: In Guang'an City, you can take a bus to Xiaoxi Town. After arriving in town, take a local motorcycle taxi to the temple. Be careful on the mountain as there is a lot of moss and the road is slippery!
