A fascinating stop at Gunnuhver Hot Springs, one of Iceland’s most active geothermal areas! The landscape feels otherworldly, with boiling mud pools, steaming vents, and vivid shades of red, yellow, and brown stretching across the terrain. The air is thick with geothermal steam rising dramatically from the earth — a reminder of Iceland’s raw volcanic power. We took a peaceful walk along the wooden pathways, mesmerized by the constant hiss of steam and the surreal beauty surrounding us. Sitting by the viewing deck, watching the steam dance against the sky, was truly relaxing. The legend of “Gunna,” the ghostly woman said to haunt this area, adds a mystical touch to the experience.
