Return to the Arctic

Following the Arctic trip to Svalbard (Norway) last August, this year I embarked on an Arctic trip to Greenland. It’s still the Arctic, but last time I went further north and it was colder, and this time it’s more tiring. I checked the activity tracker and found that I had been walking six or seven miles a day for several days in a row, climbing 60-70 floors, and wearing several pounds of rain boots, waterproof pants, and down jackets. It was like the weight-bearing military training back then. It was very hard. Greenland is the largest non-continental island on Earth. It seems familiar to me. I have read many books about it before. In 982 AD, the Norwegian Eric the Red was expelled from Iceland for committing a crime and settled in Greenland. In order to attract more immigrants, he called this place "Green Land". For this "treasure land", the United States tried to buy it out from the Danish government several times, but all failed. What is puzzling is that most of the 158 passengers on the expedition ship are middle-aged or elderly, and they feel burdened by the expense, while young people prefer to enjoy themselves on trips.
