Church of St. Nicholas

#hellohalloween The Church of St. Nicholas (Pfarrkirche St. Nikolaus) in Merano, South Tyrol, Italy, is a late Gothic church that serves as a landmark of the city. The church was first mentioned in 1220 and was expanded over time, taking its final shape in 1465. The architecture is predominantly Gothic, with a three-nave hall structure and a 78-meter bell tower. It features well-preserved stained glass windows and a large rose window above a pointed arched portal. Inside, the church contains a high altar by Jakob Pirchstaller (1786–1788) and a finely carved red sandstone pulpit from the 15th century.
