Longyangxia, located at the junction of Gonghe County and Guide County in Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, China, is the site of the first large-scale cascade hydropower station in the upper reaches of the Yellow River and a shining pearl in the Yellow River Basin. Longyangxia is world-famous for its unique geographical features and huge water conservancy project. Longyangxia Dam, as the leading power station in the hydropower cascade development in the upper reaches of the Yellow River, has a dam height of 178 meters, a total length of 1,140 meters, and a total storage capacity of 24.7 billion cubic meters. It is one of the largest earth-rock dam hydropower stations in China and even in Asia. Its construction not only greatly improved the water resources regulation capacity in the upper reaches of the Yellow River and provided strong guarantees for the power supply in Northwest my country, but also played an important role in flood control, irrigation, water supply and ecological environment protection. There are very few people in Longyangxia and the scenery is super beautiful. I really want to recommend it to you! Longyangxia will not disappoint you no matter what season you go there! In summer, the water is azure blue; in spring, autumn and winter, it is agate green. The Longyangxia Scenic Area is divided into four parts: the Yellow River Canyon, Canyon Cliff, Longyang Lake, and Earth Forest. Recommended route: Longyangxia Grand Canyon - Yellow River Grand Canyon - Longyangxia Earth Forest Geological Park The earth forest and hiking trail are my two favorite parts and also the two parts with the least people. The area of ​​the earth forest is not large, and it takes about two hours to walk around it. It is a circular hiking trail and is quite relaxing. The hiking trail is a self-driving tour section (quite similar). If you only have one day, it is recommended to only go to the Yellow River Grand Canyon and Longyangxia Earth Forest Geological Park.
