The Black Mountains and the Crawnon Valley

The circular route of Tor y Foel affords panoramic views of the Crawnon Valley and Mynydd Llangynidr. This is a separate walk but the ridge can clearly be seen south south west from the slopes of Tor y Foel. Llangynidr is a settlement and community in Powys, Wales, located 9 miles south of Brecon and about 4 miles west of Crickhowell. The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, as well as the River Usk, run through the settlement. Brecknockshire is the historic county in which Llangynidr is located. It is a good base from which to explore the surrounding area.
