[Geoje] Maemi Castle, born from a typhoon

Geoje Maemi Fortress In 2003, a citizen built this fortress alone to protect his crops after Typhoon Maemi struck. Now, it's a popular destination on Geoje Island. 🏰 📍 Location Bokhang-gil, Jangmok-myeon, Geoje-si, Gyeongsangnam-do Close to Geoga Bridge, making it a perfect stop on your way between Busan and Geoje! 🚗 There's no dedicated parking lot; you'll need to use a nearby cafe or park on the side of the road. ☕️ There are small, charming cafes on the way to the fortress. While the signs are a bit disorganized, they add a touch of local charm. Perhaps because we went during the Chuseok holiday, there were a ton of people 😅 (They say it's quieter on weekdays!) 🏰 Maemi Castle Scenery The square stones and cement are stacked in regular patterns, giving it the feel of a European castle ✨ The green trees blend in with the surrounding landscape, making it look more like a work of art than a building 🌿 The Mongdol Beach stretches out in front of the sea, adding a unique charm 🪨 Photo spots everywhere 📸 (Stairway to Heaven, castle walls, ocean view cafe, etc.) They say the castle is still under construction.
