Gyeryong Mountain — Where Cherry Blossoms Meet Sacred Peaks

#cherryblossom25 Cherry Blossoms at Gyeryong Mountain (계룡산) One of the most popular cherry blossom locations near Gongju and Daejeon is Gyeryongsan Mountain. There is a little village at the base of the mountain on the way to Donghaksa Temple that is usually quite busy around this time of year. So, I woke up early one morning and went before work. It is a nice area and they were setting up venues for the cherry blossom festival as well. I recommend the place but warn you that there’s going to be a lot of traffic on the weekend. Gyeryong Mountain is one of the 23 National Park in Korea. It was actually the second mountain to be included on the National Park list (in 1968) after Jirisan the year before. It reaches 845m and has many hiking courses that connect the temples around the mountain.
