Black and White Band Church

#celebratewithtrip The majestic and solemn Cathedral of San Lorenzo was built starting in the 9th century and was remodeled until the 16th century, which explains the juxtaposition of different architectural styles both inside and outside. It is located at Piazza S. Lorenzo, 16123 Genoa and is open from Monday to Friday from 0800-1200 and 1500-1900. It is around 350 meters 4 minutes walk from De Ferrari metro station. The facade has Gothic portals flanked by two bell towers of different heights. It is distinguished by the predominance of two-tone black and white bands, a symbol of nobility according to Genoese customs, and by the marble lions on the sides. Currently the cathedral is under restoration.
