This pontoon bridge is about 400 meters long, connected by 117 small wooden bridges tied with cables, with wooden planks laid across the boat surfaces as the bridge deck, connecting both sides of the Gongjiang River. Usually, it ensures the passage of pedestrians between the two sides of the Gongjiang River. In the past, Ganzhou's water transport was busy, with ships traveling from the Gongjiang River to the Ganjiang River in an endless stream, and the ancient pontoon bridge had to be dismantled once a day to allow passing ships to pass through, which is what we call 'dismantling the bridge after crossing the river.' - When you come to Ganzhou, you must walk on this ancient pontoon bridge. It has witnessed the prosperity of the ancient city of Ganzhou and is still a part of the lives of Ganzhou people today.
