Hiked Gukmangbong Peak

#summervacay Okay, so Gukmangbong Peak, never heard of it before this trip, but dang, it’s a hidden gem. It’s tucked away in Gangwon-do, and the vibe is peaceful but also kinda epic. I wasn’t planning on doing a full-on hike, but next thing I know I’m sweating, snackless, and loving every second of it. The trail’s not crazy hard, but it does get your heart going. Forests, birds, that clean earthy smell, A+. Then the views at the top? Unreal. Like, the kind that make you forget you were just cursing your legs 10 minutes ago. You can see layers of mountains just rolling forever. It’s giving main-character energy. Hardly any people around, which made it feel like my own little adventure movie. No ticket booths, no noise, just trees, wind, and my growling stomach. Pro tip: bring water, bring a sandwich (maybe two), and bring a friend who doesn’t mind some light suffering for great views. Would 100% do it again.
