A Guanyin statue on a stone wall at Wushan Mountain in Fuzhou

The statue of Guanyin is located on the stone wall at the southern foot of Wushan Mountain in Fuzhou City. The statue is 2 meters high, with a spiral bun on the head, wearing a Sanskrit robe, with bare chest and arms. The statue has a plump appearance and a natural expression, and has the characteristics of Tang Dynasty sculpture art. It is recorded that the Buddha statue was carved from a rare stone by Guanghui, a monk at Shenguang Temple, behind Zunsheng Hall in the sixth year of Tang Xiantong (865 AD). It is the earliest relief stone statue in Fujian Province.
