I love the brilliant sunshine and the azure sky of Fuzhou
Transportation🚝: The transportation is very convenient, you can take the high-speed train directly, and the Fuzhou station is closer to the attractions.
Accommodation🏨: You can stay near Shangxia Hang, and in the evening you can walk to the attractions according to the first day's itinerary.
day1️⃣: Arrive in the afternoon -> Youth Club -> Zhongzhou Island -> Yantai Mountain Commercial Walking Street
Zhongzhou Island is still under maintenance, so you can only take a look from the outside.
Yantai Mountain is suitable for photography both during the day and at night, with many interesting photo spots and shops with interesting interior decorations.
day2️⃣: 💓Qishan Wanfo Temple -> 💓Xichan Ancient Temple -> Sanfang Qixiang -> 💓Wushan
Wanfo Temple: It is 18 kilometers away from Sanfang Qixiang, half an hour by taxi, but it is definitely worth it. Right at the entrance is a Guanyin Island composed of 32 different Guanyin statues. Passing through the Heavenly King Hall, you reach the Mahavira Hall, which houses seven large Buddhas. To the right of the Mahavira Hall, the Wuguan Hall is a canteen where you can eat vegetarian meals, with an all-you-can-eat lunch for 28 yuan starting at 11 am.
Xichan Ancient Temple: The entrance fee is 20 yuan, open from 8:00 to 17:00, a temple built during the Tang Dynasty and has been rebuilt during the Song, Yuan, and Ming dynasties. You can only enter and exit through the East Gate. The Five Hundred Arhats Hall has a total of 6 floors, with terraces on the 3rd and 5th floors where you can go out. The Bao'en Pagoda is locked and can only be viewed from the outside. The temple's gardening is beautifully done.
Sanfang Qixiang: Sanfang: Guanglu Fang, Wenru Fang, Yijin Fang; Qixiang: Jibi Lane, Gong Lane, Anmin Lane, Huang Lane, Ta Lane, Langgong Lane, Yangqiao Lane. I didn't like it very much and left after a short visit.
Wushan: Highly recommended is Wushan next to Sanfang Qixiang, which is suitable for watching the sunset. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the top of the mountain, and you can also overlook Sanfang Qixiang. Route: Zhuzi Temple Red Wall -> Wushan Pavilion -> Stone Forest -> Stone Wall Guanyin -> Yangzhi Pavilion -> Linxiao Pavilion -> Meteorological Station
day3️⃣: Yantai Mountain -> Gushan
Yantai Mountain: There are many Western-style buildings. Route: Wanchun Lane -> Cangshan Cinema -> Minhai Customs Taxation Office Residence -> Former Site of the French Consulate -> Shicuo Church -> Lequn Road -> Tingxia Road -> Fuzhou Yantai Mountain Commercial Walking Street
Gushan: The round-trip cable car is 70 yuan, one-way is 50 yuan, and you can also hike up the mountain. Ticket sales stop after 17:30, so be sure to catch the cable car down the mountain before sunset, ending the pleasant journey in the afterglow of the sunset.

Fuzhou's downtown boasts the scenic Wushi Mountain
'San Shan Liang Ta' has always been a landmark of Fuzhou, encapsulating the city's cultural landscape. Wushan, known as the 'foremost of the three mountains,' has an ancient charm and splendid scenery. Since the Tang Dynasty, it has been a renowned scenic spot in the city. Historical records indicate that Wushan features thirty-six oddities and fifty-five scenic spots, and it is also home to many legends and the marks of literati and poets.
Wushan, located next to the Fuzhou Municipal Government, is also known as Daoshan, facing Yushan with an altitude of 84 meters. The area is covered with towering trees and deep scenery. It is said that during the Han Dynasty, the He family, known as the 'Nine Immortals,' climbed here to shoot crows, hence the name Wushan. Since the Tang Dynasty, Wushan has been a tourist destination, with over 200 cliff carvings left by ancient people, including seal, official, regular, running, and cursive scripts, each reaching its own level of perfection. Among them, the seal script by Tang Dynasty calligrapher Li Yangbing is considered unparalleled. Wushan's Wuta (Black Pagoda) faces Yushan's Baita (White Pagoda) from a distance. Its predecessor was the 'Jingguang Pagoda' built during the Tang Dynasty's Zhenyuan era. The pagoda has eight sides and seven floors, with a total height of 35 meters. Each floor is adorned with relief Buddha statues, totaling 46. After restoration, the pagoda is open for climbing. The Daoshan Pavilion on the mountain has an inscription by Zeng Gong, one of the eight great masters of the Tang and Song dynasties, titled 'Daoshan Pavilion Record,' which describes the scenery of Wushan and the local customs of Fuzhou.

Wushan and Daoshan can be called a treasure mountain
After arriving in Fuzhou, I was there for the famous Sanfang Qixiang, but also for the high-pressure pot oysters🦪 recommended by a friend. Unexpectedly, the Wushan Scenic Area was just nearby, already connected with Sanfang Qixiang, forming one continuous area. Wushan is a comprehensive scenic area that combines natural scenery, historical sites, and cultural art. Exploring it, I discovered that Wushan truly is a treasure mountain!

Wushan Gaoye Temple
❤Reason for recommendation: Cultural heritage inheritance
Gaoye Temple, Zhengyi Academy, Drum Tower Ruins Park, Coin Museum
In Fuzhou Gaoye Temple, I found the super local Fuzhou Five Plague God belief. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, Liu Yuanshi, Zhong Shixiu, Zhao Guangming, Shi Zhongli, and Zhang Yuanbo dreamed of evil spirits poisoning in the well when they were in Fuzhou. In order to prove to the public, they drank the well water and sacrificed themselves and were sealed by the people of Fuzhou. Because Qianlong felt that it was a lewd sacrifice, in order to keep the Gaoye Temple, the people of Fuzhou brought the god doctor Gao Zhenren, who became immortal in Wushan, Fuzhou during the Song Dynasty, into the temple. By the way, I went to the Zhengyi Academy built by Zuo Zongtang, and found the monument of Zheng Chenggong being given the national surname and Zhu Xi's 'Fu' character at the Drum Tower Ruins, and there is a museum about the history of financial and coin development in Shangxia Hang Wushan.
❤Reason for recommendation: Historical and cultural heritage
Endless history about Fuzhou Wushan Gaoye Temple
Wushan Gaoye Temple was founded in the Tang and Five Dynasties, and was called 'Nanjian Temple' at that time. Historically, Gaoye Temple was a center of the belief in the Five Emperors in Fuzhou, and was the first stream of the famous 'Nine Hermitages and Eleven Streams' in Fuzhou. During the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, the Qing government banned the belief in the Five Emperors. In order to protect the temple property, the believers gradually worshipped the medical god Gao Zhenren as the main god and renamed it Gaoye Temple, thus preserving the temple. In October 1860, an American youth named Theodore Francis Jones came to Fuzhou. Jones took 48 photos of Fuzhou scenery with his camera, recording his feelings for Fuzhou and leaving us precious images. The most famous photo (Figure 9) was taken around 1870 with the Fuzhou Twin Towers as the background of the South Gate Pocket. The building group of the front firewall and the dovetail ridge in the photo is Gaoye Temple. When I saw this photo for the first time, I was immediately moved by the beauty of Fuzhou's residential buildings!
The simple and exquisite caisson of Wushan Gaoye Temple, the old is like the old is really good Under Wushan, the carved beams and painted buildings, the caisson of the main hall is simple and exquisite. Standing on the stage, the red banner is too harmonious, and I remember that the photos of the ancient stage of Fushan Hall in Zhengwei Village last week have not been sorted out, and this procrastination is also drunk when I come back...
