I witnessed a uniquely Chinese romantic experience at the easternmost point of our motherland.

Dongji Square is located at the easternmost point of China's land territory. It faces Russia across the Ussuri River to the east and borders Heixiazi Island across the Fuyuan Waterway to the north. Dongji Square, with its back to the motherland and facing east, is shaped like the sharp bow of a warship, symbolizing China as a giant ship setting sail. In the center of the square stands a massive sculpture of the Chinese character "Dong" (East). Above the character is a sphere, like a hand holding up the sun, symbolizing hope and new beginnings. I arrived at Dongji Square before dawn, hoping to catch the first rays of sunlight on the motherland. At this time, the bright moon hung high above the "Dong" sculpture, and the stars twinkled, creating a unique beauty of the night. I walked to the riverbank and waited quietly for the sunrise. As the distance gradually brightened, the river surface shimmered, fishing boats sailed slowly, seabirds soared, and the square transitioned from the quiet of night to the bustle of day. Soon, the sun rose, followed by a solemn flag-raising ceremony. As the national anthem played, the bright five-star red flag fluttered in the wind and rose slowly. The sunlight was brilliant and warm, stirring the hearts of everyone present, as we witnessed the earliest flag-raising ceremony at the easternmost point. The bright sunlight shone on the viewing platform, the "Dong" sculpture, the boundary marker, and into everyone's hearts.
