Heixiazi Island in the East Pole welcomes the first ray of sunshine from the motherland

Heixiazi Island is located in Fuyuan City, Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province. It is located on the southwest side of the main channel at the intersection of the Heilongjiang River and the Ussuri River. It is the easternmost point of the motherland's territory and the earliest place to see the sun in our country. Heixiazi Island has been our territory since ancient times. On September 29, 1929, due to the China Eastern Railway Incident, the Northeastern Army was defeated and occupied by the Soviet Army! Since 1954, Chinese fishermen have been unable to land on the island. On February 23, 1964, China and the Soviet Union began negotiations on its ownership. By October 14, 2004, during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to China, China and Russia signed the " Supplementary Agreement between the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation on the Eastern Sector of the Sino-Russian Boundary", the boundary dispute between the two parties has been settled, Heixiazi Island was divided into two, and the half of the island close to China on the west side is owned by our country. On October 14, 2008, China and Russia held the unveiling ceremony of the China-Russia boundary monument on Heixiazi Island, marking the official return of the approximately 171 square kilometers of land on the west side of Heixiazi Island and its associated waters. During the summer vacation, the family went to Mohe to search for the north. After returning to Harbin, they flew to Fuyuan to complete their visit to the East Pole of the motherland. Heixiazi Island is currently a very large tourist attraction. There are no permanent residents, so you have to buy a ticket to cross the bridge to enter. From the East Pole Pagoda (Figure 1), the commanding heights on the island, you can overlook Khabarovsk (today's Khabarovsk, Figure 3). The nearest Russian settlement on the island (Figure 4) is nearby. At the entrance of Dongji Pagoda, you can spend 30 yuan to take a battery car to the easternmost boundary monument No. 259/4 to see the handover ceremony (Picture 6-8). According to the tour guide and the battery car master, it used to be open, but there are always Unconscious tourists like to go around and take a look behind the boundary markers. This is illegal border crossing! Relevant departments had to set up isolation nets. Now it is difficult to get close to the boundary marker, which really makes us latecomers cry... There is an old Soviet military camp site at the entrance of Heixiazi Island Wetland Park (Figure 9-11). It is now Provincial cultural relics protection units bear witness to the history of occupation. The Bear Garden is a great place for families to visit. There are more than a hundred black bears inside, and you can buy carrots to feed them. It is said that there are still wild black bears on the island, so Heixiazi Island lives up to its name! The exit of Xiongyuan is the Easternmost Post Office (Picture 13). Compared with the Northernmost Post Office building in Mohe, this place is much simpler. It is just an inconspicuous business hall. Don’t miss it. Don’t rush back to the city after leaving the island. Be sure to go to Dongji Square (Figure 14-20). This was the easternmost point of our country’s land before the return of Heixiazi Island. Witness the intersection of the Heilongjiang and Ussuri rivers, and the square There are three boundary monuments on which you can take photos and check in. To the north, you can see the Orthodox church built overnight by the Russian side at the southern end of Heixiazi Island... With a trip to Heilongjiang, you can visit both the Arctic and East Pole of your motherland. It’s really worth it!
