Fushun, Liaoning: Disappearing Glory and Historical Scars

Fushun, Liaoning, has been an important industrial city in Northeast China since modern times and is known as the "coal capital." Today, it is a typical resource-exhausted city. Many people travel to Shenyang, but they are not interested in Fushun, which is just a short drive away. In fact, Fushun has a rich historical heritage, and many historical events and figures are related to this city: Hetu Ala City The birthplace of the Qing Dynasty. In the 44th year of the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, Nurhaci ascended the throne here and established the Jin regime, known as the Later Jin in history. Yongling Tomb The ancestral tomb of the Qing royal family and a World Cultural Heritage site. It is the tomb of Nurhaci's father, grandfather, great-grandfather, distant ancestors, uncles, and other royal relatives. Lei Feng's Tomb and Monument Fushun is Lei Feng's second hometown and the birthplace of the Lei Feng spirit, as well as his resting place. Pingdingshan Massacre Site On September 16, 1932, the Japanese invaders massacred more than 3,000 innocent villagers of Pingdingshan Village at the foot of Pingdingshan Mountain in the southern part of Fushun. Marshal Forest The tomb of Zhang Zuolin, which is now a huge empty tomb. Before the burial, Fushun had already fallen into enemy hands. The gate of the Marshal Forest faces Tiebei Mountain, and not far behind Tiebei Mountain is Sarhu, where Nurhaci once defeated the Ming army. Fushun War Criminals Management Office Site Aisin Gioro Puyi was imprisoned here for ten years. During the Qing Dynasty, Fushun was both prosperous and defeated, a true cycle of history. The above are all national key cultural relics protection units in Fushun that I visited in one day. In addition, there are Ga'er Mountain, open-pit mines, and other attractions worth seeing. I must say two things: There is a zebra crossing without traffic lights on the road in front of the Lei Feng Memorial Hall, and tourists look left and right when crossing the road, but no cars give way. This is a city where Lei Feng is buried and is known for Lei Feng. Yongling Tomb is small and remote, but the ticket is very expensive. You may feel like you will regret it if you don't go in after coming all the way here, but there is really nothing to see.
