Funing Forest Sea International Hotel Experience (Part I)

📅 April 2nd, Executive King Room, ¥304. 🏨 The hotel lobby features a double-height ceiling, with reflective pure black marble floors whose white lines radiate out like a six-pointed star. Directly opposite is a huge LED screen playing the hotel's promotional video on loop, with the so-called 'Sheng Ding' ornament placed inconspicuously by the wall below; the integrated front desk is located under a massive mural that serves as a backdrop on the left, while the staircase on the right leads directly to the second-floor restaurant. The screen wall and two columns in front divide the lobby into two sections, with the rest area and business center tucked away on either side of the rear hall. 🏨 The overall layout of the lobby is straightforward and square, appearing more spacious as it lacks the common central decorations. The decor is simple and elegant without losing sophistication, and it holds its own even compared to many of the 'old five-star' hotels in Nanjing. 👩🏻‍💼 At the front desk for check-in, three middle-aged women were appropriately dressed and polite, but their professional competence was worrisome (I'm not sure if it was a problem with the backend system). They couldn't find my reservation even after I showed my ID, and it wasn't until I showed them the order on my phone app that they managed to complete the process. Fortunately, I was the only customer in the lobby, so it went relatively smoothly. In the end, they politely informed me about the location of the elevators, as well as the floor and time for breakfast. 🗺️ The elevator was noticeably old and moved so slowly that it was almost imperceptible, but this also meant it was very stable. The guest room floors continued the building's square layout, which was easy to navigate. The golden-yellow carpet in the corridor and the dark solid wood walls also exuded an old-fashioned style.
