Fuji World Heritage Center

In order to check in at the Fuji World Heritage Center, we booked a hotel nearby temporarily. There was no reservation price at night, so I searched for nearby hotels online while eating and found the "Fujimi Fuji Kyu Hotel" very close by. The price for last-minute booking during the Golden Week was quite touching. The hotel is right next to the station, and the price for two people was over 15,000 yen, including parking (separate parking for 24 hours costs 1,100 yen). Next time, you can search for the hotel name and directly confirm the price by phone on the day. It will probably be cheaper outside of the Golden Week. It takes about ten minutes to walk from the hotel to the Fuji World Heritage Center. The center opens at 9 o'clock. We finished breakfast and checked out just in time. We asked the front desk if we could park until 12 o'clock after checking out, and surprisingly we were told that we could, which saved us a thousand yen for parking in the surrounding area. We expect to finish visiting the World Heritage Center and the nearby Fujiyama Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine ⛩️ (said to be the landlord of Mount Fuji) in the morning. During this season, it is recommended to stay near Mount Fuji to enjoy the view. Based on the past few days, Mount Fuji is not covered by clouds before 10am and after 5:30pm, while the rest of the time it is shrouded in thick clouds like a blanket covering half of the mountain. The exterior of the Fuji World Heritage Center is designed in the style of a giant bamboo basket, with a spiral sea shell-shaped staircase inside. The interior exhibition hall is divided into six specialized areas, with a total of four floors including an observation deck. Along the way up the rotating staircase, there is a combination of projection technology and light art, introducing the history and scenery related to Mount Fuji. The view of Mount Fuji from the rooftop observation deck can be called a stunning sight, presenting Mount Fuji in front of you like a giant painting. If you find the right distance, you can capture the reflection of the ground and Mount Fuji, which is both real and illusory. If you only take photos, it may not be as stunning as a video, but the on-site experience is even better, giving you a feeling of being instantly immersed in a painting! Ticket price is 300 yen per person, free for students below university level and people aged 70 or above (proof required).
