The expeditionary force returned to the crossing point

'The Story of My Battalion Commander, My Regiment' took place here. Defeating the enemy but losing to the mountains, out of the hundred thousand expeditionary soldiers, only twenty thousand perished on the battlefield. However, after covering the retreat of the disorganized British forces to India, they received the order to withdraw. During the journey home, while crossing the Savage Mountain and the Gaoligong Mountains among others, over thirty thousand officers and soldiers sacrificed their lives amidst the towering peaks. Now, many relics of the Chinese expeditionary force from those days along the border have gradually been restored, and a segment of the incredibly tragic history of the Chinese military and civilian resistance will be forever passed down.
