Xi'an West Line Tour

We experienced the classic Xi'an West Line Tour route - Famen Temple and Qianling Mausoleum. In fact, Famen Temple is located in Fufeng County, Baoji City, and Qianling Mausoleum is located in Qian County, Xianyang City. Neither is within the jurisdiction of Xi'an City, but they are not far from the main urban area of Xi'an, so they can be visited in one day. Famen Temple, also known as Ayuwang Temple, is said to have been built during the Eastern Han Dynasty. Today's Famen Cultural Scenic Area is a Tang-style architectural complex rebuilt in 1987. Centered around Famen Temple, it showcases the long history and profoundness of Buddhist culture. The main attractions include the Namaste Dagoba, Buddha Light Avenue, Famen Temple True Body Pagoda, and Famen Temple Museum. Qianling Mausoleum is the joint tomb of Emperor Gaozong of Tang, Li Zhi, and Empress Wu Zetian. It is large in scale and magnificent in architecture. It is said to be the only Tang tomb that has not been robbed, and the main buildings and most of the stone carvings are still well preserved. The sacred path is long, leading directly to the southern peak of the earth tower, with more than 100 large stone carvings on both sides, such as stone pillars, winged horses, ostriches, horsemen and horse controllers, Weng Zhong, stone tablets, and statues of 61 foreign ministers. The Stele of the Holy Record and the Stele without Words have stood for thousands of years, silently telling the vicissitudes of history. There are 17 large tombs accompanying Qianling Mausoleum, among which the tombs of Princess Yongtai, Prince Zhanghuai, and Prince Yide are of high specifications, and the murals and pottery figurines are worth seeing.
