Oldest winter resort in France

When it is said oldest in context to chamonix, it mostly has a positive connotation. This was the very place where the inaugural winter Olympics were held exactly 100 years ago. So you can imagine that this place is well versed in being a winter destination. And so it featured on my plans. It offers spectacular scenery and views of Mont Blanc due to it's proximity. Having said so the high prices can play a spoil sport. But that is just an indication of how this good old option is amongst the best to visit. Because it is an amazing town with some superb restaurants. The views are consistently beautiful, shopping is decent, great skiing and snowboarding for people with experience. I also was able to enjoy the night life. Yes the food is fantastic but pricey. But as a traveller on budget you make do and bets of all met some wonderful travellers here.
