Cook Saddle Cafe & Saloon - Mexican-American restaurant at the foot of Fox Glacier

#2月好去地方2025 In order to visit Fox Glacier, I stayed in a motel at the foot of the mountain for one night and had a good meal at Cook Saddle Cafe & Saloon opposite. This is an American log cabin-style restaurant that seems to be family-run. It mainly serves hearty BBQ Mexican-American cuisine. It has a fireplace and a bar. The atmosphere is super chill, and you can sit outdoors to enjoy the view. It seems that when you come to New Zealand, you have to eat big pieces of meat to be satisfied, so I ordered pork ribs and steak. I don’t know if it is a local specialty, but both steaks were topped with a lot of lettuce. If I had known, I would not have ordered salad separately, as the amount of vegetables was sufficient. The seasoning is very American, the ribs and steaks are delicious, but the best thing is the atmosphere of the restaurant. Under the warm fire and the tipsy lights, it is perfect for a beer and a chat. This is what is called family time. #NewZealandTravel #FoxGlacier
