Check in at Foshan Ancestral Temple and experience Lingnan culture

Foshan Ancestral Temple is located at No. 21 Zumiao Road, Chancheng District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province. It is a national 4A-level scenic spot. Opening hours: 8:30–18:00 Admission: CNY 20, CNY 10 for people over 60 Transportation: Self-driving, taxi, subway, bus 🏛 We walked to Foshan Ancestral Temple after visiting Lingnan Tiandi. Foshan Ancestral Temple is located across the street from Lingnan Tiandi. 🏛 Foshan Ancestral Temple was built during the Yuanfeng period of the Northern Song Dynasty (1078–1085) and is dedicated to the Taoist deity Zhenwu Xuantian Shangdi. The temple complex covers an area of 3,500 square meters and consists of Wanfutai, Lingying Archway, Jinxiang Pool, Bell and Drum Tower, Sanmen, Qian Hall, Main Hall, Qingzhen Building, and other buildings arranged along the north-south central axis. 🏛 We entered the scenic area through the west gate of the ancestral temple. The first thing that caught our eyes was the Double Dragon Wall, a popular photo spot for tourists. 🏛 Turn left and go straight to Yip Man Hall, where the life of Yip Man and the culture of Wing Chun are displayed. Go straight from Yip Man Hall, pass through Baopet Archway and Beilang, and you will reach the Foshan Huang Feihong Memorial Hall and the Lion Dance Field. Don't miss the lion dance performance at the Lion Dance Field! 🏛 After visiting the Foshan Huang Feihong Memorial Hall, you will reach Qingzhen Building, the Main Hall (Zixiao Palace), Qian Hall, Jinxiang Pool, Lingying Archway, and Wanfutai. This is the essence of the entire scenic area. The dougong beams are all made of solid wood, and the ridges of the halls are decorated with Shiwan pottery (ridge dolls). The surrounding walls are inlaid with a large number of brick carvings and gray carvings, and the halls are furnished with wood carvings, stone carvings, iron castings, copper castings, and tin castings. It is a veritable art palace and a great place for taking photos. 🏛 Exit Duansu Gate and you will see the Foshan Stone List. Continue to walk to Cangzhen Pavilion, where the Ordos Folk Culture Exhibition is being held. 🏛 The Foshan Ancestral Temple History and Culture Exhibition is a must-see, where you can learn more about the ancestral temple. There is also an ancient iron pagoda outside the exhibition hall. 🏛 The wishing tree and the pool and ancient pavilion below it are popular photo spots for young people. The pool is small, but the water is very blue, making it a great place for taking photos. Tips: 1. Zumiao Station on the Guangzhou-Foshan Line is about 300 meters from the west gate of Foshan Ancestral Temple. Please plan your transportation accordingly. 2. Foshan Ancestral Temple is an art palace worth visiting. If you have the opportunity, don't miss it.
