Stay at Kuimen Impression when visiting Qutang Gorge.

Kuimen Impression is a commercial street along the river with many hotels and restaurants. It's close to both the high-speed rail station and Qutang Gorge. A taxi from the high-speed rail station to Kuimen Impression costs about CNY 20. After dropping off your luggage and freshening up, you can head to the Qutang Gorge Baidi City Visitor Center. Many spots in the scenic area claim to be the location depicted on the back of the CNY 10 note. However, the perspective on the banknote is an aerial view, so don't bother trying to find an exact match. If you're determined, you can try taking a scenic helicopter ride. If you're not a high roller, stick to hiking and taking a boat. There are two boat options: a scenic cruise for an in-depth tour or a free public ferry that runs every 30 minutes. The walking path from the free ferry pier leads to San Xia Zhi Dian. However, it's closed in September due to fire prevention measures. If it's closed, you can only walk to Chijia Tower. On the way to Chijia Tower, there's a fork in the road leading to a beacon tower. There's a small museum up there that I found more interesting than the museum at the ferry terminal. Honestly, I was already sweating after climbing the beacon tower, so I can't imagine what kind of superhuman could walk all the way up to San Xia Zhi Dian. After dinner at Kuimen Impression, you can stroll along the river to Kuimen Bridge to enjoy the night view. It's quite pleasant to enjoy the breeze by the river.
