Qutang Gorge is located in Fengjie County, Chongqing. You can take a high-speed train to Fengjie and then transfer to a cruise ship to enter the scenic area. I took a regular passenger boat from Fengjie to Wushan County. Once in Wushan, you can also take a boat to the scenic "Wu Gorge," known for its beauty. Entering the Qutang Gorge scenic area by boat allows you to view "Baidi City" from afar and then reach the "Qutang Gorge," featured on the 10 RMB banknote. Looking up from the river at the 1,000-meter-high cliffs is awe-inspiring. Above is the "San Xia Zhi Dian" peak, with an elevation of 1,388 meters. Along the way, you'll see many residents living in the mountains boarding and disembarking the boat, including students going to school, elderly people going to the market in the city, and fruit farmers selling their produce from the mountains. "I bought a bag of oranges and tangerines" for 10 yuan. In short, it was a worthwhile trip, despite enduring four hours of cold wind on the boat. Qutang Gorge's "danger" is palpable, and it has reshaped my understanding as a local. The journey is filled with local charm, far from the hustle and bustle of the city, offering a down-to-earth experience that contrasts yet complements the main urban area.
